Wouldham High Street
The owners of this two up, two down terraced property in a small, quiet village in rural Kent, opted for a loft conversion to enable them to create a third bedroom with en-suite. In addition to this they asked that internal alterations be made, transforming the ground floor into a light, airy, open plan layout.
It was necessary therefore to remodel the staircase to accommodate the new layout, and to create cohesion within the design. The new scheme makes the most of the natural light in the property, thanks in no small part to the tall windows to the left of the staircase, which allow extra light into the hallways and the first floor. The dormer in the loft conversion affords splendid views of the surrounding countryside and the whole property has been given a cleaner, sleeker, more contemporary feel internally, without upsetting the exterior aesthetic.
The scheme design required Planning Consent and technical drawings complete with specifications for Building Regulation consent. In addition, the full tender procurement and construction processes were managed.
